Inferno v1.0 By Michael Vincent - michael@radicalsoft.org Radical Software - http://www.radicalsoft.org ** ABOUT Inferno is an 99% Ion compatible shell for the 83+. It runs Ion programs. ** INSTALLATION Send INFERNO.8XG to your calculator. The following programs will be transferred: A, INFERNO, ZINFERNO You may archive ZINFERNO to save space, however you cannot archive INFERNO. If you do, INFERNO will only use 990 bytes of RAM. ** USAGE Run prgmA to start Inferno. The following keys are valid in Inferno: Left/right arrows - change screens of programs Up/down arrows - move through the program list Mode - exit Inferno 2nd/Enter - run currently selected program On - power off calculator F1-F5 - change to folder Prgm - move current program to folder (press Prgm followed by F1-F5) ** WHY YOU SHOULD USE INFERNO INSTEAD OF ION Inferno provides 99% compatible Ion emulation, allows support for folders, and is smaller than Ion if you archive ZINFERNO. Why not use it? ** OTHER You must have enough free RAM equal to the program you are running. Example, you must have 3K free to run a 3K program in RAM. This doesn't really matter, though, as many people leave all of their programs (games) in the archive. ** INCOMPATIBLITIES While Izzard is completely compatible with Ion, ZTetris will crash Izzard because it uses RAM areas not defined correctly in ion.inc. There's nothing I can do about this, contact the authors of ZTetris and ask them to use saferam1 instead of the statvars. This is why I list Inferno as 99% compatible. ** CREDITS Joe Wingbermuehle - ZLIB and ZGFXL Dan Englender - beta testing and debugging help Robin Kay - VAT searching routine ** VERSION HISTORY prv0 Beta release Folder bug fixed v1.0 Initial public release!
