------------------------------------------- NAME: Contagion CE 1.0.0 AUTHORS: epsilon5, EverydayCode LANGUAGE: C PLATFORM: TI-84 Plus CE/TI-83 Premium CE ------------------------------------------- INTRODUCTION ------------ Contagion CE is an interactive virus simulation game (similar to Plague, Inc. for mobile devices) for the TI-84 Plus CE/TI-84 Premium CE calculators. Contagion CE features 4 difficulties, mutations, a transportation view, and more. Whether you’re playing in class or just to burn time, Contagion CE lets you save, so you never have to worry about losing your progress. With all of the customization, there is never a dull moment. INSTALLATION ------------ Installation is easy. You’ll need these tools: - TI-Connect CE - A TI-84 Plus CE/TI-83 Prem. CE (OS 5.4 or lower) - a USB to calculator link cable Once you have these ready: 1. unzip the folder “ContagionCE.zip” 2. open TI-Connect CE 3. make sure the latest C libraries are on your calculator (download at https://github.com/CE-Programming/libraries/releases/tag/v8.8) 4. send Contagion CE to your calculator, as well as fileioc (this new version is required to run the program, and is included the the zip file) 5. run Contagion CE from the [prgm] menu or a shell of your choice CONTROLS -------- [graph]: open/close the mutation menu [<], [>], [^], [v]: change selected continent in default view [mode]: change viewmode [clear]: return/quit GAMEPLAY -------- Once you start the game and name your virus, you can use the arrow keys to move the cursor to select your virus’s starting position. Once you place your virus with the enter key, you can select different continents with the arrow keys. DNA POINTS: DNA points are earned by infecting the population. You start the game with 5 DNA points that can be spent by upgrading virus mutations in the mutation menu [graph]. These mutations include transmission, resistance, civil unrest, and lethality. Using a combination of these upgrades can help maximize the success rate of your virus. VIEW MODES: By default, you can see the percent infected of each continent. You can use [mode] to switch between this view and the transportation view. Transportation view allows you to see how the virus spreads through ports, as well as the status of these ports.
