============================================== | | | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening v1.01 | | By: Jason Ho | | | | AIM: Bravo585 | | Email: gtg999g@mail.gatech.edu | | http://jasonho.resnet.gatech.edu | | | ============================================== I have released this version as a demo so people can get a glipse at whats coming. More than likely i will stop coding after the first dungeon, and then release the source as a Zelda engine, where anyone can modify to create their own Zelda game (or finish Link's Awakening), since Link's Awakening is only 1 of many. The source can now be found in my author profile at ticalc.org Visit my new website! Its hosted off my computer, so it will be up occasionally. - Jason ------------------------ KEYS ------------------------ 2nd - Swing the sword Esc - Exit the game Direction keys move link: -UP -DOWN -LEFT -RIGHT ------------------------ HISTORY ------------------------ v1.01 - Contrast problem should be fixed - Screen scrolling adjustments v1.00 - First release! ------------------------ POSSIBLE PROBLEMS: ------------------------ - Occasionally Zelda will start to flicker and lag really bad. I think this might be caused by the calculator writing to and reading from the video address at the same time (Im not too sure of this, if anyone can explain this please email me.) To fix this problem, just stop gameplay for a few seconds and continue. - Cutting down bushes and other terrain may seem a little off, but this is actually how the original game was on the gameboy. Enemies, however, are accurate in detecting sword hits.
