bricked boot2

Hello,

I tryied to upgrad my Ti Nspire cx to the cas version and failed. I followed the tutorial with needeles.
At the end it only shows that I have to install an OS, what always failed.
So I looked for a solution and connected an arduino with ttl to it.
I said my Boot 1 was loaded, but Boot 2 stuck at I dont know 19 % or so.
I tried all hot key combos I found in this forum, but nothing worked.
So I tried to flash a new boot2.
It doent look like it works:

Code: Select all

Do you have any solution for this?

Hello.

Your Boot2 has been wiped out or corrupted. You need to reinstall a Boot2 image through XMODEM as prompted.
Here is the TI-Nspire CX Boot2 4.0.3.49 for example :

Hello Critor,
yes, that is exactly what Im trying.
I already tried following versions:
tinspirecx_boot2_4.4.0.8.img.tns
tinspirecx_boot2_4.0.3.49.img.tns
tinspirecx_boot2_3.1.0.16.img

All with the same output, what I posted earlier.
Okay, there is one diffrence, the "20%Error..." changed to only "Error...".

But what's the output during the transfer, and immediately after the transfer completes if it does ?

Thats one update cycle with restart.
The interesting part for you is:

Code: Select all
Begin XMODEM file transfer.

Restarting now.

What looks okay. But as you can see it boots without recognizing the new installed bootimage.
The screen on the CX half black half red screen with "Ti- nspire" logo the loading bar jumps to round about 60% and in the left bottom corner is a gear with a yellow "!".

For your information, the cables are soldered to the cx, I think I cant provide a better connection than this.

Ok thanks, no error reported. It might indicate a faulty Flash chip.

Try to hold :nses: :nsme: :nsmo: during a reset. The calculator should attempt to boot the diags partition instead of the boot2 partition.

Bat. is a bit too weak, accept it was powered via cable all the time. What os should I install? I want it to be a normal cx. And shall I send it via Ti-nspire link or is there a way for ttl?

So I tried to send 3 diffrent versions via TI CLS:
TI-NspireCX-4.0.3.29.tco
tinspirecx_4.5.0.1180.tco
tinspirecx_4.5.3.14.tco

In the ende of the transmission there is always an error that I cant install an older OS than the present OS.

No error in the ttl connection.

Ah, you've got a working Boot2 in the diags partition and reached the OS install screen, great.

If OS 4.5.3 was rejected, then the only choice left is to try OS 4.5.4, and then if it still doesn't work 4.5.5.
If OS 4.5.5 also gets rejected, then there is something wrong...
