TI-BASIC will never die... and Dance shall live forever... SUPER MARIO SMASH DANCE Version 0.95 2006, by Kévin Ouelle alias Dream of Omnimaga. https://djomnimaga.music-2000.com/ Dance Dance Revolution is a property of Konami. Super Mario is a property of Nintendo Description =========== If you ever played Dance Dance Revolution at the arcade or on consoles you should be familiar with this game. However unlike my previous game called xLIB xLIB Revolution which I released back in October 2005, SMSD has over 10 built in sim files, highscore system and maximum speed is 1.5x faster than XXR. In fast songs the amount of arrows per seconds to perform can reach the 12s on SE calcs. As if it wasn't enough the game features a battle mode where you have to take the enemy energy to 0 by hitting the items that replace the arrows sometimes. There is the good old Mushroom, flower and star items from Mario. Be careful of Goombas! There are various difficulty levels for some songs as well so be prepared for some challenges! Installation ============ To play this game I highly recommend a TI-83+SE, a TI-84+ or a TI-84+SE. The reason why is not because of the game speed, but because the sim files speed has been synchronized with the original songs (not included) on a TI-83+ Silver Edition. You will enjoy this game a lot on a 83+ regular edition but the sim files will run twice slower than the original songs. Plus gameplay experience and challenge is much better on faster calcs. :) This game is HUGE. To install the game you need ALL your RAM free and enough archive memory (40000-45000 bytes should do) Make sure you archive all your stuff and do a RAM reset before installing the game. Once done open TI-Connect (version 1.6 or later) and follow the installation process: -Go in the "archive" folder where you unzipped the zip file, select all the files included in this folder and send them to your calculator's archive memory. If they load in the RAM make sure you don't forget to archive them manually on your calculator. -Once it's done, do the same with the "RAM" folder but send the files to the RAM. -Go on your calculator in the APPS menu and select xLIB. Once you see the title screen of xLIB press 1 to enable xLIB. Then quit by pressing 3. -Now you should be ready to play the game. Run prgmSMSD to play. If you have any trouble sending the programs please refer to the documentation provided with your TI connectivity software. Generally I select all files, right click on one of them and select send to TI device, wait until it loads then click the send button and I repeat the step with the other files. Playing the game ================ At the title screen you can select options with arrows. CLASSIC: Classic Dance Dance Revolution mode. Try to beat your high scores! BATTLE: You must finish all 8 sim files (based on Super Mario Bros 1 songs). Difficulty always increases. Use items to beat your opponent OPTION: Change arrow detection with number keys QUIT: Exit the game In classic mode the goal is to perform different patterns by pressing the corresponding arrows at the right time. Select a song with arrows and press 2nd to confirm your choice. During the game you need to be accurate, as soon as the arrow reaches the top of the screen smash your calc arrow! When you miss you lose HP and if you are successful you gain 1 HP. If HP reaches 0 you fail. Basically make sure you survive until the end of the song and try to get as many points as you can. In battle mode it's a little different. The song will loop until you take the enemy HP to 0. All this can be achieved with the different types of items that appears sometimes instead of arrows: -Arrows: You must hit them, otherwise you lose 1 HP. -Goombas: You must NOT hit them, otherwise you lose 2 HP. -Mushrooms: When under mushroom effect if you hit an arrow successfully you gain 1 HP. Mushroom effect is lost when hitting a goomba -Flower: Cause 3 HP damage to enemy. You MUST be under mushroom effect to use flowers. To get another flower you need to get another mushroom first -Star: For a short amount of time makes you invincible and causes 1 HP damage to the enemy every time you hit a goomba. Planned features ================ Here is what I plan to add in the game if I ever make a new version. Some features might not be included though, but who knows. -Sim file compression (that would make the game a LOT smaller) -More songs -Unlockable songs (can only be played after beating some other ones) -A 83+ synchronized version (it would exclude some songs that are too fast) -More game modes Credits ======= -Patrick Prendergast for xLIB -Nintendo for making Super Mario and their sprites -Konami for making DDR Special thanks ============== -Patrick Prendergast for his great support in the community, without him I wouldn't be here right now -Kalan Scallan for his great support as well -All the Omnimaga staff -You for downloading this game Disclaimers =========== -I will not be held responsible for damage caused to your calc. -You can't use the code for this game without my permission. -No animals were harmed during the making of this game.
