This reminds me something.

Some interesting thing is that in China there are always some sellers on Taobao providing "used" TI-Nspire CXs at a very low price. For example, I bought my "used" CX CAS for about 54.27€, which a brand new one costs about 162.81€ in China. And these guys sometimes sell broken CXs, which could still be disassembled for using as components, only costs about 27.14€, and if you are good at restoration, they can still be used normally after some repairing.

A thing need to be noticed is that you can always find a hole drilled on the CXs they sell, sometimes on the circult board, sometimes even on the screen or on the keypad(this kind of CX is impossible to be used normally). This shows that the CXs they sell are mainly from the electronic garbage recycling factory. What they are selling are not "used" calculators-- they are actually selling electronic garbage. That hole is drilled by the recycling factories to prevent someone put them onto market again.

I once asked for someone who did this kind of job, and he told me that the hole is drilled by the recycling factories, sometimes only on the circult board, sometimes the whole calculator is being drilled through. Then the seller get these garbage calculators and check out where the hole is. If it is not on the critical components, such as LCD or chips inside, the will try to repair it and then sell them as "used" ones. Otherwise, they will sell them as "broken" ones.

I really wish some people would sell the used calculators on Aliexpress! Even for 70 EUR It could make it so much easier for people to get CX calculators.

Out of curiosity, How much does a new CM-C cost in Euros?

A brand new CM-C costs about 71.64€, and a CM-C CAS costs about 77.06€.

However, I remember that CMs are sold almost twice the price about a year or two ago. Maybe it's TI decided to stop the support for CM series that caused resellers to reduce the price to sell more products.

Interesting. :)

Do you have some current taobao links which could illustrate this ?

Thanks.

Well, nowadays it seems to be not that easy to find cheap CX sellers...

However, there are still some guys selling.

https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a2 ... t=3#detail
Used CX (Bad looking ones but works) for 50.88€. Shipping not included. Only 1 left.
Used CX (Good looking ones) for 58.34€. Shipping not included. Only 1 left.
Used CX (Almost new) for 106.51€. Shipping not included. Only 1 left.
:warning: Warning: This guy is famous for his low price but also famous for his bad attitude to customers(especially when his things going wrong or you want a refund). Don't buy his things unless you really want it.

https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a2 ... t=3#detail
CX CAS that seems to be new for 78.69€. Shipping to China mainland included. 55 left.

BTW, used Clickpads are usually sold at 20.35€~40.70€ in China.

Indeed, I can't find any Nspire prototype...
https://world.taobao.com/search/search. ... e&q=nspire

And I also noted that there hasn't been topics about protototypes for months now on cncalc.org, although they were quite frequent 2 years ago.
Is it related ? Do you know what happened ?...
