[Tuto] [EN/FR] Install nLoader / TI-Nspire CX
Re: [Tuto] [EN/FR] Install nLoader / TI-Nspire CX
Yeah i'm leaving it as is then, the nspire software asked me to update when i connected it to my pc, as it's been more than a year since i've done that and it said it had a new version but i just skipped it and wanted to make sure it would be okay to do it first.

Re: [Tuto] [EN/FR] Install nLoader / TI-Nspire CX
I’ve got a Ti inspire Cx CAS calculator.
Version:4.5.5.79
Boot1 code version:3.0.0.99
I’cant install Ndless because version numbers don’t match.
Normally you cannot install an older version on the calculator.
I’m wondering whether I would be able to install the older versions and as a result get Ndless to work if apply the steps written here.
Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, you need Ndless for a software installation of nLoader, and Ndless still hasn't been updated for OS 4.5.5 (and I'm really starting to doubt it will ever, not soon in all cases).
In theory, it might be possible to perform a hardware installation of nLoader. You would need :

- to generate the Boot2 partition image with Boot1.5 4.40.8 + Boot2 4.40.8 + nLoader on another device
- then to flash this Boot2 partition image through hardware (through an USB/TTL interface)

I'm trying to install CAS on my Nspire. I'm stuck on step B. When I try to run nsPartManagic.tns, I get an error:

Hello. It just means you have to install (or reactivate) Ndless.

Oops! That fixed it. I got through the rest of the steps, and used nswitch to try to install CAS version 3.6.550. However, I ended up with a completely red screen when I reset to install the OS, and when I hit the reset button on the back of the calculator I now get the "Operating System not found. Install OS now." loading screen. How should I continue?

Re: [Tuto] [EN/FR] Install nLoader / TI-Nspire CX
Hi,
i'm new to the nspire dev world and im sad to see it quite dead
anyways: I have two nspire cx, one older rev CAS and a non CAS AD.
The CAS was updated to 4.5.5 and is no longer ndless-able:
Boot1: 3.0.0.99
Boot2: 4.5.0.14
OS: 4.5.5.79
The other, non-CAS one I installed nLoader on:
Boot1: 4.0.1.43
Boot2: 4.4.0.8
OS: 4.5.3.14
First question:
On the nLoader non-CAS one, I installed you latest nLoader CAS bin and a CAS OS. It doesn't crash though, when I use the calculator app. Why are there no patches required?
Second question:
Is there a way to remove the "The software has been altered to add CAS functionality etc..." prompt?
And final question:
How can I flash nLoader via TTL on the CAS one? Which image should I use? boot2 I dumped with polydump or the one I got from nMaker?
Thank you

Hello.
I think I remember the CAS patcher is built within nLoader for some OS versions.
Regarding your 2nd question, you could try :
I think I remember the CAS patcher is built within nLoader for some OS versions.
Regarding your 2nd question, you could try :
- On your calculator with nLoader installed, dumping your Boot2 partition content with a tool like BtMg.
- Getting the Boot2 partition image file on the computer.
- And then on the non-Ndless-able calculator, flashing the Boot2 partition image file through the boot combo.

Re: [Tuto] [EN/FR] Install nLoader / TI-Nspire CX
Which boot combo for flashing over serial? How can I check if therre is the correct Boot1.5 on the CAS model?
Do I dump the nLdr image with BtMg? There doesnt seem to be an option to dump the whole partition
