5 micro:bit USB cables for free - teachers (US & Canada)

For back to school 2020, Texas Instruments released additional Python modules allowing the use of a BBC micro:bit card on the TI-83 Premium CE Edition Python. These modules were also functional on the TI-84 Plus CE Python Edition but their menus remained in French regardless of the operating system language setting.

Yesterday we finally informed you of the international launch of the Texas Instruments solution, with the release of English versions of these modules.

Micro:bit cards use a micro-USB connector and your calculator uses a mini-USB one. So you couldn't connect them out of the box and had to buy something more.

A way to connect your calculator to a micro:bit card was to add a USB A female ↔ USB mini-B OTG male adapter to the micro-USB cable coming with your micro:bit card.

For less space, you could also use a single cable, a USB micro-B male ↔ USB mini-A male one. The Lindy one for example definitely works.

Surprise, actually you don't need to buy anything.

On the occasion of the international launch of its micro:bit solution, Texas Instruments is offering teachers up to 5 compatible USB cables for free (United States and Canada) !

After the TI-83 Premium CE Edition Python for France (back to school 2019) and the TI-84 Plus CE-T Python Edition for Europe (back to school 2020), does this mean that a TI-84 Plus CE Python Edition is on the way to be released for North America ?

Or maybe a TI-Nspire CX II update ?...

Vu que c'est US&Canada only... on dirait bien que TI s'apprête à unifier un peu plus leur chaîne de production et à donc utiliser le matériel TI-84 Plus CE Python en Amérique du Nord aussi ? Ce serait une bonne nouvelle d'avoir le python partout

J'ai complètement oublié d'avancer cette hypothèse, vu comment ça me semble évident qu'une TI-84 Plus CE Python Edition va sortir pour l'Amérique du Nord, après donc la TI-84 Plus CE-T Python Edition européenne de la rentrée 2020 et la TI-83 Premium CE Edition Python française de la rentrée 2019.

Ou alors, autre hypothèse, c'est pour les TI-Nspire CX II.

Nous avons vu que la carte micro:bit était déjà pilotable avec les versions TI-Nspire CX II actuelles.

Si cette hypothèse est la bonne, alors on peut s'attendre à un ajout des éléments micro:bit au menu dans une prochaine mise à jour.

Peut-être que les deux hypothèses sont correctes, aussi...

TI semble vouloir le TI-Nspire CX II soit le principal appareil python dans les États-Unis. Pourtant, parce que le TI-Nspire II est rare en les écoles ici, j'espère que TI apportera le TI-84+ Python Edition à les États-Unis.
If my French was incomprehensible basically I'm hoping TI brings the 84+ Python Edition stateside too
