Thanks to you guys, I made it possible to localize KnightOS! Adriweb and I started on the French translation:

There's still work to do, but it's looking great! Additional thanks to persalteas for helping get the character set extended to support additional European characters.

Bonus, a picture of the English and French versions side-by-side on real calculators:

You "started" the French translation ? It looks complete.

Good job.

KermM proposed to do one version, but with the choice of langage (there is not so much strings, isn't it ? )
What do you think about ?

Yeah, it's not complete. Things like the running program text needs to be tweaked to fit in the available space, and the shutdown confirmation needs to be reworded to fit in the space (or maybe the space could be made bigger).

As for language choice, you can build from source like this: "build.exe --language fr", where "fr" is french, and any other language you feel like. Including all languages in the final OS would take up unnecessary space - lots of it. It would also be difficult to try and include them all at once.

Indeed I couldn't find a short wording for "unsaved data maybe lost" :(
I guess the space would have to be increased...

J'ai fait une traduction à l'espagnol, mais je ne sais pas trop comment faire pour l'ajouter au code source / Here's a Spanish translation, but i'm not sure how to add it to GitHub:

It does not have to be an exact translation. Getting the same idea across in less words is also acceptable. This particular message is actually split up into three lines, and you could split it differently if you wanted to as well.

You have to fork the repository, clone it locally with git, add the spanish translation, and submit a pull request. It's well documented, this file is not acceptable. You also shouldn't just drop this file and leave, you should keep track of progress and continue to translate as progress is made. You also must test your translations by compiling the OS and ensuring they all look correct and fit in the space provided.

It's well documented, this file is not acceptable.

Your message comes off as rude to a contributor, and may therefore turn him (or others) off. Ask yourself whether your post is acceptable in all the places that you know of.
