TI-82Stats.fr and TI-83 Plus: identical in hardware???
Are these models exactly identical in hardware? From this page http://www.datamath.org/Graphing/TI-82_STATS_FR.htm it looks like they have the same exact chips. Can a 82Stats.fr be flashed into a 83 Plus (or 83 Plus.fr)?

Hello.
Indeed, the TI-82 Stats.fr and also the black TI-82 STATS are using the TI-83 Plus hardware :
But note the PCBs are different. The Flash ROM pin enabling access to the higher 256 KB of the Flash is grounded on the TI-82 Stats.
You can still unsolder this pin and connect it the the matching ASIC pin.
It looks possible but as far as I know, nobody has achieved a TI-83+ OS installation on a TI-82 Stats yet.
The issue is the TI-82 Stats is running an older TI-83-like software, which means :

- no way in ASM to address something in the higher 256 KB, and thus no way to read/write in this range
- no write support of the Flash in the software
