@parrotgeek1 He has an HW-D non-CAS CX.
Here's his partitions setup :
Installing CX CAS OS 4.4 with the little how-to posted sooner in this topic just gets him a reboot-loop.
Even with an empty /ndless/startup/ folder...
@Bisam Some idea...
If you can come to http://www.orme-multimedia.org/r2017/ on May 31st, maybe I could exchange a patched CX with yours.
And then have fun (or not... ) trying to figure out what's wrong.
The hardware revision shouldn't be a problem - the patch is working on more recent revisions than your HW-D.
And the older is the hardware revision, the better is the compatibility.
Here's his partitions setup :
partition Boot2 :
- Boot1.5 : 4.3.49
- Boot2 : 4.3.49
partition Diags :
- CtrlX : 4.4.3
- Diags : 3.10.20
Partition ExtnD :
- CtrlX : 4.4.5
- Boot2 : 4.3.49

@critor : I won't go down to Marseille just to have a new OS on my calc ! I didn't even know about Orme 2017...
@parrotgeek1 : critor made a mistake : I can of course install non-CAS OSes, but not the OS ones with version >3.6.
But as I said I may buy some tools.
I don't own a Raspberry Pi nor an Arduino... but I may use one at school : I know they have some.
But I definitely would rather have my own piece of material !

If you install a 3.9+ OS not targeting your model, the patcher is required for you to be able to use calculations-related features.
Without it, using any calculations-related feature is going to trigger a reboot.

I can successfully verify that that the complete nBoot /ControlX / CASPatcher package works completely fine on my HW-E.
@Bisam Have you tried using NSwithcOS to switch in to cas rather than the computer or vice-versa?

Re: [Tuto] [EN/FR] Install/Installer nBoot + ControlX (+Linu
I tested many cases :
- with or without nSwitchOS
- with different OSes >3.6 (almost tried all of them)
- with or without ndless/startup items (holding [Esc] during startup or removing them)
- with different versions of ControlX (4.4.4 et 4.4.5-beta)
All of them leaded to the same fact : CAS OS rebooting again and again, just after installing itself.
If someone finds a way to fix that, I would be glad.
PS : If I only have to borrow an USB/ttl interface and a few cables to give more information, I think we could have some more on Wednesday evening. I'm pretty sure that the lab at the highschool where I work have some.
