Be sure to be running an nBoot-compatible and Ndless-able OS (4.0.3 or 4.2) prior to trying anything.
If you want to be able to go back to OS 3.1, for now you'll have to uninstall nBoot.
This can be done from the ControlX menu (choice #9), or from the nsNandMgr and BtMg tools.
You can trash the whole Diags+ExtnD partitions by just holding while resetting the calculator.
Then, after installing Ndless manually, you'll be able to nullify the ExtnD partition with nsPartManagic and regain maximum space for your files.
Hi
I have installed ControlX but I want to downgrade to OS3.1 like Jakewd.
How can I be sure that I can do that?
Handheld Status:
Version: 4.3.0.702
Boot1: 3.0.0.99
Boot2: 4.0.3.49
Thanks

Hi.
With the latest released ControlX version to date, you won't be able to run OSes 4.0.0 or older.
But with the next ControlX version which is currently being tested/validated, you'll be able to.
More about this in some days...

Hey, I'm having slight issues with BtMgr. When I try to launch it gives the error
I have tried resetting my calculator but I still get the error. Is there any solution to this?
- Code: Select all
Not Enough Memory
Total Needed : 35.2MB
Allocated : 0MB
Reset or downgrade and try again

Yes, the current BtMg version doesn't behave properly if one of the Boot2/Diags/ExtnD partitions is bigger than 13-14MB, which seems to be your case.
Currently, I'm working on the next major ControlX version.
I'll try to deal with this problem later.
For the moment, you can try to launch nsPartManagic, check which Boot2/Diags/ExtnD partition is so big, and try to shrink it (by relocating the next partition).
Note that if it's the ExtnD partition which is bigger than 13-14MB, you'll have to relocate the Filesystem partition, and thus you're going to lose all your files and will have to reinstall the OS on the next reboot.

Wow, thanks for the quick response, really appreciated. I thought that might be the case, however, nsPartManagic will not open, it just freezes and the only way to fix is to reboot.

Try to launch nsPartManagic just after a reset and to wait a little longer maybe.
More than a minute for example - the NAND chip is slow.
If it doesn't work, try to use Polydumper ( archives_voir.php?id=3829 ).
This harmless tool is going to dump various vital parts of the NOR/NAND chips.
Maybe it's going to crash/freeze on the Diags+ExtnD partition but that's not important.
I'd just need the manuf.img file which should be created by the tool in the ndless folder. If you can attach it to a next post, I'll then be able to simulate your current partitions setup, check what's happening and see what I can do for you.

Thank you, I'm going to test with the emulator.
